Boxer Rebellion 1967
Around 1967 Bruce Lee was considered by many, to be rebelling against, what he described as the "classical mess" , or classical martial arts. Lee believed that each individual was more important than any particular style or method and that most classical methods of his time were practiced unrealistically.
Boxer Rebellion 1992

BRI represents "personal revolution" through honest expression of martial art. BRI represents progressiveness. Not progressive in the sense of avant garde. Because today's avant garde is tomorrow's classical mess. BRI expresses the root, which in the case of progressive means to make progress individually and subsequently on the broader scope of the human family

What is JKD?

Bruce Lee's MA is about dynamic and explosive footwork that can be applied to enhance your stand up game regardless of your background. JKD at it's highest level is about delivery and avoidance with emphasis "in delivery" on full body weight, mass accelerated movement and recovery! While most people know JKD as a blend of many styles, in reality it is Bruce's application of geometry, physics and kinesiology in the realm of effective Stand Up Fighting. The IJKD curriculum is based on the "Latter Stage" JKD platform and includes facets of Jun Fan Gung Fu (early JKD) Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu... The system of JKD is based on a model of adaptability referenced by a descending scale of optimal function from the 3 timing elements, various means and degrees of engagement. The concept that formed JKD was that of "the human style", not styles. JKD is simple, direct and non-classical. Ted Lucaylucay & Ted Wong Lineage as taught by Mark Stewartwww.ijkd.com.
